My car's brokened

Well, after a month and a half with my 93 Taurus SHO, I have run into a small bump in the road. Last monday My driver's side tie rod went, thus removing my car from road use. Upon further inspection my mechanic found that the tie rod had been recently replaced, but the idiot who put it on cross threaded it, thus destroying the tie rod, and my steering rack.

Now I'm $500 in the hole because the idiot I bought this car from was incompetent. God Dammit

Wait until the heater core goes out, $500+ to replace a $50 part......

Hmm.... i take it it was the inner tie rod end? Thats the only way i can think of that a cross threaded tie-rod could take out your steering rack.

I think Ford built their cars around the heater core. It started leaking on my '88 Thunderbird. Knowing what that entails and since I live in South Florida, I just connected the inlet & outlet hoses together and called it a day.

Anyway, that's pretty bad. It's pretty hard to crossthread a tie rod, unless the moron got the wrong one and tried to rig it up. I've had plenty of DPO ("Damn Previous Owner") problems too, usually involving creative electrical wiring.

It was the inner tie rod end. I don't know how the idiot who used to drive the car did this, but now I'm out $500 because he's a fucking idiot

I'll second that, changing the core on my 88 tempo was an all day job. Dont start me on the water pump, one of the mechanics I know would actually remove the engine from its mounts to replace the pump.

Not really DIRECT input, but check out www.shoforum.com and www.superhighoutput.com for a couple good forums with people who know SHOs inside and out.

Had my white '90 for about half a year now ;) And yes, mine came with a host of problems of its own... still have some of course. Then again, it was only $2000 :P
