1988 Pontiac Gl6000
I got this car from my grandparents and it is now mine. It runs well all except for a power steering problem that I am getting fixed. There is a few cosmetic things that I would like to change but cannot find where to get what i need.
The button for the locks on the driver side is broken. The rubber along the doors of the car is falling off. that is about all I need so if anyone can give me an idea on where to pick it up it would be appreciated. |
hi, it depends upon you re world. got money go to the dealer ,no money or a little bit try a salvage yard. if it were me i would go to the dealer these parts, are not that exspensive. good luk and keep us posted!!

will do I am on vacation now but I will look into it when I get home.

avoid the dealer on both counts. they will rake you over the coals for this stuff, especially considering how old the car is. IF they even have access to those parts, they WILL be expensive. the lock button can likely be found in a junk yard. the door molding can be purchased from many auto parts stores/chains. you can get it in bulk, or premolded to fit the car exactly. you might also be able to get the lock button too. ask if they carry or can get Help! brand parts. Help! is a company that makes all sorts of little odds and ends like that.

Cool and thanks for the help guys. My neighbor works at a junk yard so I will talk to him first and then go from there.
|
for sure the junk yard is the way to go, the dealers will hammer you.

Parts like that aren't that expensive from the dealer, but they probably won't have those parts for a car that age.
