Me at the track
This is me on my 1999 Yamaha YZF 600R at Thunderhill raceway in northern CA. This isn't the best bike for the track but its definetly one of the few bikes out there that can do it all, sport tour, commute, twisties, without feeling like you just got off a torture rack. LOL! This is Turn 3.
The pictures were taken by my buddy Darron Spohn . If you have a sportbike, do yourself a favor and get some good gear and get out on the track. If hitting the twisties is your thing, this is one of the funnest things you can do on your bike. This is Turn 2. |

Hey hey...i know those turns Got a chance last summer or two ago, to take a trip up there. Me and my brother hopped in his RX-7 and went for a roadtrip. San Diego to Willows in less than 10 hours...including stopping to eat at Dennys, gas breaks, and traffic. Was a lot of fun, in fact some of the most fun i've had in ages. I actually almost ate it coming into turn 3. Came out of 2 too fast and was a little break happy. Caught it in time, but man the adrenaline was going. Great fun, and a fun course. Specially turn 5 (...arg...total brain fart. The one at the top of hte hill where you find yourself coming down turning right and the hill is banked the wrong way). Saw a few cars go off there Id love to do that on a bike, but alas, i cannot ride

That looks like a blast. Awesome pics.
I'm a cruiser rider, personally, but I've always thought that the mid-range sportbikes looked like a blast. I'd a friend what had a YZF-600R and I thoguht it was definitely a sweet bike. Maybe someday I'll try one. |
