Brake dust/Alloy wheels
Does anybody have any good products to remove brake dust from alloy wheels, without harming the wheel? Some of the old dust is just won't come off even with scrubbing. Thanks

go to autozone or wal mart there are a lot of products out there, cant think of specific names right now though. also brake pads will help. wagner pads give off way less,if any at all brake dust. than part stores house brands. good luck.

I use simple green on my Z. Works great. I use the brakes hard, and get a lot of dust. I use a 1:4 ration of simple green to water, spray it on, let it soak for a bit and wipe off with a towel. I don't think there is anything that will work well simply spray and wash.

Spray some heavy degreaser on and let it sit for a minute or two. Then wash it of with warm water. I would recommend waxing it twice a year.

Once you get the dust off, there's stuff you can put on (I think it's called Rim Ice or something like that) that keeps brake dust off of your rims by creating a static charge as air moves over the rims. I saw it at Walgreens in the aisle that has the car stuff, gadgets, and pepper spray.
