Thats the dodge, not the Mitsubishi, right? And automatic or manual? If its manual it wont be too hard to find someone qualified, they are not very complex or too hard to work on at all. If its an auto...start to get picky. Its really easy to screw something else up.

It's a manual. F5M33 is the model. I already have the tranny out. I basically just want someone to open it and give me some advice. I have no problem working on engines but I'm out of my league in transmissions.
Thanks,

If you are good with engines, and skilled enough to take out the tranny, i would do it yourself. Get a decent book on how a tranny works, yours in particular if you can find it. They are very simple, and not too much to fix. You'd be surprised how unskilled you can be and still fix a manual tranny. Maybe you could do the work yourself, and then find a tranny shop that would let you bring it in, give it a look over, and make sure you didn't screw anything up. This way you can have a professional OK it, but you can still have the fun and learning of doing it yourself.
Anyway, whats wrong with the transmission? Synchros not working or what?

I blew the differential out of my old tranny. The new one I have should have no problems but I want to weld the pin on the spider gear and have someone look over it just to give me piece of mind. Any recommendations around Austin Texas.
