I'm not much of a muscle car kinda guy... and i would seriously fear overproduction (like this latest generation of Mustangs) but damn.. if I could get some luxury features in that interior, I would seriously consider buying that car. It's quite beautiful.

I think its kinda ugly, and the red interior is nothing any car manufacturer should still make, let alone show off. I do like some of the controls on the inside however, especially the toggle switches i've seen in other pictures.


As far as the engine and power goes, i believe that 400hp is going to be on the Cobra or Mach1, but probably only the Cobra. That 400hp number is on a supercharged v8. They have two other v8's to drop in there, a dual-cam 4valve one (probably for a mach1), and a single cam 3valve (probably for the GT), and the craptacular v6. Since their are 3 v8 engines, and only two v8 model, plus the SVT, that just seems to me like the way the engines would be used.

I prefer to buy American, but it looks like if I want a good-performing car with leather, climate control, navigation, etc. in the $30-40k range, I don't really have a choice but to buy an import.

comparatively...it is the most attractive mustang i have even seen and i think the design will catch many a long stare when this thing hits the road.

i agree that overproduction will make those long stares short lived as there will 5 trillion of them on the road in no time at all.

nonetheless, for the likely sub $30k price tag, this isnt a bad buy at all. my 2004 maxima needs a little less refined american stablemate anyway :)

STi, Evo8's, all high end exlusive performence cars that came to America this year, that aren't EVER going to be overproduced. S4's, M3's, M5's, RS6, all high end performance with amazing luxury - cars but you just don't see them everywhere. But almost no high end import performence vehicle is overproduced to bring to American soil, it just costs too much money, not just to get the cars here, but a brand new M3 is around 55-60k, and It's slower then a Mustang, however, it is a BMW.

I'm not an American car fan, I am a truck kinda guy though. I own a Silverado and an M3, however, Ford to me has REALLY stepped it up in design and interior fabrication. Chevy is falling off the face of the map with low quality interior's and the cheapness of the ride. Ford has stepped up, and this is no different. Pretty amazing you can get a car with better performence numbers then a Vette for 12-15k less. I think this Mustang is awsome, however, it needs far better interior options. As far overproduction, it's the 5 or 6 models of Mustang's that are offered that makes them appear everywhere. A small number of those is the real Mustang though, the SVT Cobra.

The chevy comes out with a even better vette...just watch

Chevy's C6 Vette doesn't change a great deal, it's a 6.0L stroked, and produces around 410-450 I read a long time ago.

They need to rework the tail lights a bit - As they are, they look too much like the tails on that godawful Mercury Capri. The front is fantastic though.

Ok, I see more mustangs than any other car out here. If I were to get a fine piece of motor like THAT, I would wanna be the only one in my neighborhood with it, AT LEAST.

I'm extremely jazzed about this new Mustang. The "newest" Mustang I've ever owned was a '71, and I haven't been terribly impressed with the original Pony of late. This new '05 looks to be what brings me back to the Mustang again. Very, very nice.

Oh, and the red interior is keeping in line with the retro theme. Until recently, when all cars came in tan or grey, there were probably more Mustangs produced with red/maroon interiors than damned near the rest of 'em put together.

I want a lot of them. That makes parts plentiful and the aftermarket will step up and produce.

I like a spartan car. The power windows and A/C are too much crud. Take it out. Make the car light, it will fly.

Dude, there isn't 400HP on the stock V-8. It says that the concept car uses the Mustang SVT Engine retuned to be ~400HP. The base model will be a 3.0L v-6. It says only the top models will get the phat v-8 with the six-speed.

i really like the retro look.. too bad others wont follow.. i would love to see a retro looking 63 vette or somthing like that, or early firebirds

I'm not trying to call you out or anything, but I see those cars everywhere around where I live. I've seen several STi's and M3's , and an Evo VIII just on campus alone, not to mention the city...you'd be hard pressed to go a day here without running into an M3 or an STi or 7 Series BMW or an XJR or anything else...you are even guaranteed to see most of those cars parked at the metro...it's kind of sad, I've gotten used to them all. They're still nice, though. :|

You can definitely see the influence from the 1st gen Mustangs. I'd still like to see Mopar do it with the Charger, Demon, or Challenger.

I used to work near Tysons Corner. I'd see Bentleys and Ferraris at least once a week. BMWs were as prevalent as Neons and Civics in most places. That's certainly not the norm though, I've never lived anywhere else where those kinds of cars were so common.

Here in Florida, I don't see much except for Buicks, Lincolns, and Cadillacs. :(

NOVA is insane. I've got afriends that live up there. Dunno how they make it with the shite jobs they have. If you drive something prole-ish like a Honda, you get looked at as if you have leprosy.

tell me about it man. I have a Camry right now and will soon get a Civic...my friends have WRXs, Camaros, Porsches, 300zx, CLK, etc...it's depressing!
