It's a UK Sikorsky H-3 used for AWACS. Note that his landing gear was up. It looks like the very end of an autorotation, but I can't understand why he didn't extend his landing gear.

mabye he lost his hydrolics, looks like his engine was still going, as after it was on its side the rotar moved past.. strange though really, i'm not a pilot though so..

Serpent, interesting, but there is a manual "shove the gear down now" lever that charges the landing gear system with pneumatic air. And lots of it. I think the rotor was just spinning on it's own, what do you think?

Well when it was on its side the rotar blade came around (what was left of it anyway). So i think it was some sort of hydrolic failure, why he didn't get his landing gear down i don't know, like you said there isn't a good reason as to why he didn't unless there wasn't a pilot inside and it was radio controlled.
