Weekend maintenance list

Trying to get a lot of work done to my car this weekend. I have parts waiting in the living room ready to be installed. Unfortunatly, I can't use the Rotary lifts or tools at work anymore (damn cheap owner ), so I have to do the work in my parking lot here at the apartment. Here's what I've got to get done:

Clutch kit
Resurface flywheel
Install upgraded headlight harness
New 85/80W headlight bulbs
New fog light bulbs
Spark plugs
Fuel Filter
Oil change
Install shortened shifter with new shift knob
Bleed hydraulic clutch system
Change tranny fluid
and if I have time... Install some reman. drive axles.

Just got a new breaker bar today and a new torque wrench, so should be a fun time in store for me.

2 ft long with 1/2 inch drive.

I went to a place called Northern Hardware. Amazing prices!

I hate tranny work...

Northern Hydraulic/Hardware is a great place to buy tools. Harbor Freight is another good discount tool chain.

I drive a maxima.

Just borrowed the "36mm Jesus Nut" from a friend of mine, and got some help coming over later tonight. Time to go start pulling the drive axles.

Add new hood struts to the list

UPDATE: Got a the driver's side axle, brake assembly, and everything else off the car. Tranny fluid is drained, air intake is out of the way, and most of the tranny is unbolted. Had to quit for the night because I was using my neighbors outlet and they had to go out for the night. So now I don't have enough light to work, so I'll do some more work tomorrow.

Still not finished. I need to borrow another jack or get another person to help because it's kinda hard by myself. Had to haul a bunch of the baby's stuff today and just got home, so I'm gonna try to go at least get something done.

Last trans I dropped was from my Trooper II. Bloody thing had to come back 1", rotate clockwise 25 degrees, then drop the rear by 6", then back and down. There isn't a transmission jack on the planet that can handle those kind of contortions. As a 4x4 trans with transfer case, it weighed a bit too.

I wound up cutting out the trans hump in the floorboard to run a rope from above. Then had a friend underneath with with me while my dad sat topside holding the rope and helping with angles. It frikken blew.

Hope yours comes out easier.
