300zx overboost
 

Here is a motor I have the displeasure of rebuilding because the kid thought it was great to have 18psi of boost on his 91 300 zx twin turbo.

this will cost him over 8 thousand dollars, plus I have to rebuild his friggen turbos, he warped 5 of 6 exhaust valves, plus wasted a bullet proof crank.

Take more pics of the damage. That won't be fun...but I thought that was a 24 valve motor? Anyways, have fun!

these damn kids who think that you can just turn up the boost or give a 200 shot of nos and it will be no problem...

You can't?? NO WAY. I was gonna run 21 PSI... would that make bad things happen? I wanna be a l33t racer but not if I break my new car that daddy just bought me...

as for running that much Pressure...
i run at 35 PSI with no problems...

My mental pressure as i keep trying to schedule a maintenance with the dealership for my 40k which im nearly 3k over by because of my work schedule.

wow... wish i had that kind of cash to burn...would't it be cheaper to just get a new engine and start all over again.?

300ZX engines are about 12 grand IIRC.

Why not just buy a new car then? I mean a sweet low miles turbo 300zx costs around 13 -14 k....

This car is in excellent shape with 48k on the clock, but he is going to have to wait, cause I am off to Myrtle beach for 10 days.:D :D

Cripes talk about screwing up a car in the wrong way......some people aren't smart when it comes to engine mods.

those 300 motors sure are odd built little outfits. i'm helping a friend of mine build a motor [slowly] for his 300z. he got a 91 tt motor [w/turbos], transmission, and rear end for $1000. motor only has around 35,000 miles on it cause the cylinder walls dont have much wear on them at all. i'd be interested to know what kind of setup they where running.
