The nightvision roadster

Now, I'd like to get a conversation going about the above clip, but I'd like you to experience it in the same way I did (with no title and no descirption about what it is showing me, other than a one-word expletive). So, take a minute or two, (or the full 9-1/2) watch the above embeddable, and tell me what you think.

I thought it was insane, and the literal definition to being incredible. I'm going, even in a perfectly-round-bodied automobile, is this even possible - he's banging and crossing into everything! Is this a highly-realistic simulation game, you think?

It's very hard to follow what's really going on, and why this is even happening, but I'm going to state something that matters not at all: I didn't even realize there was a passenger in the car until four minutes into watching.

That is insane! I wasn't sure if it was a passenger or airbag until the last couple of minutes.

And I thought GTA was fun. I wanna play!!

EDIT: After reviewing, there was no passenger until just past the 3 minute marker. Editing, or was he sleeping?

What is more amazing is this is pretty much what he was driving...
(not the exact car, but close enough for demo purposes...)

I love drift videos.

That's pretty amazing. It took me a bit to realize the car in front of him was not just some idle pedestrian car, but a spotter.. so that they'd know a car was coming the other direction. What's boggling to me is that there appears to be two way traffic and cars pass him on both the left AND the right.

Now I'm not familiar with traffic in Japan(?) but how the hell do you know which side traffic is going to be on?

Pretty impressive and I really like drift videos too, but I have to really wonder about drifting at night. All it would take is one pedestrian walking down after car trouble to really ruin everyone's night (and life). Sure there's a spotter car, but if the other car loses sight or if the oncoming traffic is also going fast, or there's a person you didn't see in the gleam of your headlights, it's essentially going to be death or dismemberment.

The car sounds pretty great too..

I think all the cars were together. A group going into the mountains and "closing off" a section of road thats pretty much deserted at night. Would possibly explain the lack of blaring horns when the driver was on the wrong side and how he always slowed down before another car came around the corner.

seems like pretty typical Japanese night time touge and drifting to me

At about 3:10 he comes to a stop and there's what appears to be an R33 Skyline in front of him; then at about 4:10 the Skyline spins it around (seems on purpose) then he also turns around and they line up to go back the other way; eventually at around 5:50 the Skyline turns around again and pulls next to the other guy waiting on the sideline and this main character guy continues on. A pretty typical night in the life of the touge racer.

PS: my car (with me driving) would take both of them out

The turns are a dime, (and within just two narrow lanes of road) are sick.

You can do this, BadNick? That's the main argument (had me stating: simulation?) I was half-pondering while I was watching this, asking myself "this can't possibly be real?". I mean, I know drifters are talented drivers and machinists, and I've been to a few NOPI events myself, but to be able to essentially shift the entire body of the car around while still confining yourself to basically the same position in it on the road, it seems unreal (maybe I'm not taking into account the forward-drifting turn-around motion, one that might resemble a boomerang-thrown-a-hotel-hallway example - I'm not very good at hypothetical comparisons).

I'd like to see them do this at Yosemite with 100 foot drop offs. Maybe there are cliffs in the video, but it would be better if you could see them.
