Any New Model Camaro Owners?

I'm a complete Camaro fanatic. I love them. I've had 3 in my life so far - the last one I bought new in '98 and drove it until I almost reached 200k miles when an uninsured driver ran a red light and totaled my vehicle. When this happened in 2007, Chevy wasn't making Camaros so I settled for a crap car in the meantime. I'm just dying to get one of the new Camaros and I'm curious if anyone out here has one. If so, how do you like it? Does it meet your expectations? Is it worth it?

I'm hoping to get one early next year and I'd love to hear what anyone has to say about them!:)

I don't own one but they suffer from the usual boxy spaceship blindspots found in modern sportscars. Other than that? They're friggin' sweet. The SS is a real crotch pleaser.

If you haven't had a chance to saddle up on one, hit up your local dealer. They seem to be stocking them pretty thick these days.

...

I've got a soft spot for the the '02-'03 Camaro / Firebird / Trans Am myself.

Yeah, I was wondering about the blindspots. I haven't driven one yet - I'm afraid that if I do I'll end up driving it home and I just can't afford it yet. LOL.

They are very nice from what I've read on reviews. The V6 is very, very fast for being the "base model." The SS V8s are LIGHTNING fast. I have heard the blind spots are bad, but other than that I think it would be a fantastic purchase.

Nice car -- make sure you drive one first (duh, right?) Funky interior, not going to say its a bad interior, but its weird. 2 different V8 engines, the L99 (automatic) and the LS3 (manual)...the manual has 30 more hp. The bunkerlike, limited view feel didnt bother me too much and you can get small discreet blindspot mirrors for $5 to cure the blindspot issue. And it is very comfortable to drive around in, great seats, smooth as silk to drive, remarkably quiet. Attracts a lot of attention. Probably a very easy car to live with as a daily driver. I had a '95 Z28 and this car is like a Jaguar compared to that one.

Just for clarification, there are no '03 F-bodies (Camaro/Firebird/TransAm).

Oh snap. '01-'02 would be what I was attempting to say. Ya know, the last ones they made for a while. I should have remembered that.

But yeah... not that I'd be driving one anyway. I only seem to own vehicles that are similar to the shoe choices of lesbians: sensible.
