Location of VIN # on 1969 Lincoln Continental?

Does anyone know where the VIN # is found on a 1969 Lincoln Continental?

Try the driver's door lock side.

Thanks for the reply.

Can you be a bit more specific? I am asking for a friend and don't have the car to inspect myself. Does anything have to be removed to find the VIN? What part of the door is it likely on?

It should be a yellow metal plaque that looks like this:

That's great, thanks!

Providing the plaque is easily visible, that should be enough information. If panels or such have to be removed to find it, I might need more details, but I think that should be plenty of info. The photo was a great addition. It's impressive to get such a detailed answer in such a short time period for such an obscure request.

I have seen the VIN stamped on the driver's side of the engine bay in some '60s Fords (specifically a '64 Fairlane).
