The Audi R15 is entered in the 12 Hours of Sebring scheduled for next weekend.
I will be there with my buddies. Edit: added this from the Sebring raceway site: Audi Officially Unveils Audi R15 Audi has officially unveiled its next generation Le Mans prototype, set to make its world debut on March 21 at the Mobil 1 Twelve Hours of Sebring presented by Fresh from Florida. The diesel-powered R15 TDI will be looking for Audi‚Äôs eighth overall win in ten years at Sebring. Twice this decade Audi won at Sebring in cars making their debut. In 2000, the Audi R8 won in its maiden race here at Sebring. The R10 won in its debut, making it the first diesel-powered car to win a major endurance race. Leading the two-car Audi team will be veterans Tom Kristensen, Rinaldo Capello and Allan McNish in the #1 Audi. Kristensen will be gunning to become the first driver to win five times overall at Sebring (he and Frank Biela are tied with four victories). The #1 Audi will be driven by Lucas Luhr, Marco Werner and Mike Rockenfeller. The new R15 TDI features a completely new body style with a V-10 diesel engine producing 600 hp. Numerous new technical features are included within the electrical system and chassis. Audi won the LMP1 class here last year but finished third overall behind two Porsche Spyders. Audi considers Sebring an essential requirement for success at Le Mans. They will have plenty of competition this year, with Acura, Peugeot and Lola among the leading contenders. Sebring Invented ‚'March Madness' In less than 10 days, gates will open to the public for the 57th running of America‚Äôs premier sports car endurance race. Already over a thousand fans are in line at the legendary track that originated from a WWII B-17 training base. Over the past six decades, Sebring has been America's Le Mans, playing host to the world's best sports car racing teams. Sometimes called the 'Woodstock of Motorsports', Sebring is an eclectic gathering of race fans from all over the world who make their pilgrimage to the small central Florida town on the third Saturday of every March. The Mobil 1 Twelve Hours of Sebring is an ideal family-event, with children 12 and under admitted free with a paying adult. Gates open on Wednesday, March 18th, and remain open 24 hours a day through Saturday's endurance classic. |
Its rumored to be also running at the Petite LeMans (Road Atlanta) and Laguna Seca, the last two races on the ALMS schedule.

seeing how the R15 is not all that streetable, although I'd give it a shot...I'd take me one of those S5 widebody looking things up in that three-some pic.

The first Audi R8 was delivered this week to Audi Sport Italia. 12 R8s will be delivered to 6 teams over the next few weeks. Unfortunately, it will not race in the US. At least not this year.
Seriously hot. http://66.223.111.192/Images/2009Misc/AudiR8RaceCar.jpg |
I agree, Craven, it's very good looking in black.
Need to figure out how to get to Sebring next weekend... haha |

Did you go? I know some guys that went, they go every year. Their handiwork is pictured in this story on the event. Beeramids rule. :D The R15 kicked ass. The Peugeots put up a tough fight but Audi has this down to a science. Too bad neither the r15 nor the Peugeot will be competing for much of the remaining ALMS schedule. Amazing cars. |

I like the cockpit, too. It's tough to blast Coldplay when you've got the open top.
