Separated at Birth?

They say imitation is the sincerest form of flattery, BMW is too kind.

FYI that is the 04-05 BMW 5 Series, damn that takes the ques from the 2003 Gran Prix

I agree a little bit. You can see it in the headlights, and front clip design for sure. However, that said...gimme the BMW!! But, the 5-series is a baby 7-series, which has had that styling design for the 2003 model year as well. Gotta remember that.

the double kidney grill has always been the trademark of the BMW automobiles, the Pontiacs have had dual grills, but not always kidney shaped, and not on ALL Pontiacs.

There is a resemblence, but the head lights and bumpers are totally different.

Apart from that keep in mind that the 5 series is based on the 7 series which has been out for a long time. Then the grille shape is just typical BMW. They've had the double grille since they've started making cars. The profile of the cars is different too. Not to mention the build quality.

Also, I don't think they even sell Pontiac in Europe

The back end of the new Grand Prix looks very much like an Audi A6 - especially in silver.

Actually, FWIW, that is a 2004 Grand Prix. The '03s are still the previous (and much better looking, IMHO) body style.

who actually thinks this car looks nice? I think this car is ugly but who knows it might be an acquired taste.

I think the Pontiac looks nicer than last year's model. Its a cleaner design. However, the design now looks dated and somewhat boring.

Regarding the restyled BMW, I think they screwed it up. Looks too much like the 7 series, which is being restyled to make it more conservative.

Look at Audi; A4, A6, and A8's all look the same! BMW must be going the same route. Too bad, I really liked the look of the 3/5 series. The look of the new 7 series (and now the new 5 series) is a step backward.

Well, BMW unfortunately has Chris Bangle as head designer nowadays and i can't imagine that they think he's doing a good job if a lot of BMW drivers actually started actions to get hem fired.

He is screwing up everything that BMW has built in the last decades/
