I think Alonso definitely set up that collision.

Alonso is a physical driver at times but to suggest that he's going to damage his own car for no gain is silly. It's been shown time & time again that when Hamilton is in the back of the pack he tends to make mistakes and so far isn't capable of climbing back to the front. This was a rookie mistake on Hamilton's part, nothing more nothing less.

Allonso is a good enough driver to know that clipping the other guys nosecone wth his tyres will at worst cost him a tyre pit stop but will tak his oppo out the race for at least a lap if not the whole thing.

He's vindictive enough (based on shoppig his own team to the FIA last year about spying) to do it, and clever enough to realise he can.

^^^true, but again it wouldn't gain Alonso anything. He'd do it only if he had a reason to. Unless I missed something I don't think he had one.

I'm not an Alonso fan but I just can't see him doing that given the risks. Perhaps we'll find out the next time Hamilton is behind Mr. Renault.
