Chevy or Ford?

Which do you prefer? Myself, I'm a Chevy man (boy), but that's only because I owned a Camaro and I think Ford destroyed it's whole "heritage" car with the newer Mustangs.

Ford. I like the smooth curves, the body styles of their vehicles appeal to me more than Chevy. They have the Mustang and BIG Trucks!

i am a pontiac man, really, which ties me closer to chevy than ford. however i haven't been a GM fan at ALL in the past few years because their cars are turning into crap, excluding higher-end vehicles ('vette, escalade, SSR, CTS-V, GTO) the coolest thing they have that is reasonably priced is the GTP and they still want $35-38000 for it. everything else they put out under $40k is, performance wise, a turd. the grand am, cavalier, monte carlo, impala, grand prix, vibe, CTS, malibu, etc etc. nothing has any bite to it. where's the WRX competition? where's the Mustang GT competition? where's the G35 or 350Z competition? if i don't spend $45,000 at a GM dealership, i can't buy crap from them and that pisses me off because they are doing it to themselves. the Camaro used to be THE car of the blue-collar worker. but now the blue collar worker can't go to a chevy dealership and buy anything worth having. anyway, rant mode *off*

How could you not be a Chevy fan? It's the only vehicle that i've had that doesn't constantly break down unlike my Ford Conversion van. In the past 5 years, i've spent more on my Ford van than I have spent on 4 (!) of my other Chevy's! (2 '65 pickups, '67 Camaro, and 2003 Silverado) All of which I owned at the same time! Ford has some serious problem with reliability. I will NEVER buy a Ford again.

I also somewhat agree with Tech on GMs' status though.

I prefer Chevy trucks. When it comes to cars I like Toyotas. They're cheap and reliable. I've put 70,000 miles on a Corolla I paid $500 for. Try that with a Cavalier or an Escort. I had a Cavalier I junked cuz it deserved it, and an Escort that caught fire on the side of the highway.

MOPAR! Over the past few years they have become super rides. I'd take a Ram over a Chevy or Ford PU anytime - handling wise, looks weise, performance - it just beats them cold.

I have three GM makes of vehicles: 2000 Chevy Blazer LS, '95 Chevy Lumina LS and a '66 Caddy. My RV is a Mopar.

I've had Ford products in the past, namely Mercurys, and they were all good vehicles.

I say whichever one gets your butt there and back (back is very important), then that's the one to vote for.

My truck hunting...
I used to like Chev's years ago, but I've owned a f-250's for the last 15 years. When I went the market for a new truck, I was open to any model. Here's a breakdown of performance from all three.

Chev Duramax has 300hp and 520 lb ft torque
Dodge Cummins has 305hp and 555 lb ft torque
Ford Super Duty has 325hp and 560 lb ft torque

I held out buying a new truck until the new Dodge 3500 came out. As soon as I saw it I new I wasn't gonna buy it because it looked like shit. It drove ok, but had a real bouncy ride and you had to shift constantly. The new hemi is nice, but I wanted the power and mileage of diesel.

The silverado 3500 handled nice, but the interior sucked...big time and it had a shitty towing ability, despite the ads.

The F350 turbo Diesel had a way better road feel and interior trim. It also has more towing ability and in online comparisons it was the winner.

I'm now the proud owner of a '03 F-350 quad cab diesel 4x4.

My family has one GM (Buick,) and one Ford (Lincoln.) I like both for different things, but I'd have to say that I'd take Ford, although not exclusively. I'm not much of a brand-loyalty person, it takes a lot to prevent me from trying everything.

Ford Trucks over Chevy

I'd take a Mustang over a Camaro ... but I'd take a Firebird over a Stang

And I'd take a Corvette

But the new Monte Carlo and Cavaliers are shit

i got a ford mustang 2003 (not a GT), looks great, but i dunno about reliability, seems like ppl always take one side religiously when it comes to ford, some ppl love em, others hate em. Personally, im just not sure.

It all depends...every manufacturer has its flaws and its good points.
Dodge...bad transmissions
Honda...easy to work on and reliable but expensive for parts....
etc...

ford here.

i have a 93 probe. its never broken down on me, never hesitated to start when its cold as shit in the winter. only complaint is that parts are expensive when ya need em.

my parents got a chevy silverado 2500hd , its pretty sweet and strong. only complaint is the gay ass chrome shit on the side and on the mirrors, wtf.

i guess im impartial. but then new caviliers tail lights push me over to ford. lol. those things are hideous.

ford. Ya can't beat a ford for good brakes. Although I would agree with the whole "ford destroying it's heritage with the new mustangs" thing.

Okay, you are all forgetting one important thing that LittleOralAnnie brought up earlier...

FORD HAS THE STYLE.

Both car companies make excellent cars, and any downfalls in one or the other are usually miniscule.

When I look at the new T-Bird and Mustang, though, I just could never buy a chevy over one of those. Not even a 'Vette.

Cars can, and should be a work of art.
