Friends, Friends,

I have been reduced to tears with the lost of 2007 Yaris Transmitter Key (where the door locks are built into with the key). the deals wants $250 + programming + installation for the key, totalling mega bux.

please friends, help me out here, anyone else that will sell me a Yaris Transmitter Key for less than $250?

Not likely--you're pretty much locked into the dealer for stuff like this. The lesson here is, don't lose transmitter keys.

They didn't give you a spare when you bought the car? My Fit came with two.

I had to replace the remote fob for my Avalon a few years back.dealer wanted $275 ... I got my replacement from: http://www.keylessride.com/ for considerably less.

They send instructions on how to reprogram the receiver for the new transmitter.

I did a search on the 2007 Yaris replacement and it looks like they are a LOT more expensive.

yes i had to do the same for my Neon. sucked, but meant I had to even be better about not losing my keys.

hope you find a cheaper replacement.

Unfortunately Bobby, OnStar is for GM ONLY vehicles, and the Yaris is not a GM product....lol... loved your joke there tho...lol.

One thing that people are learning every day is that automakers are trying harder every year to come up with ways to reduce the number of vehicles that are stolen. This means that keys and remotes are becoming more and more complex. IF you can find a key blank for a lower price good luck, but you STILL will have to go to the dealer to get it cut and programmed, because the Yaris key blank is not availaboe for cut by aftermarket locations. This keeps someone from "borrowing" your car some day and copying your keys. Also, almost every car made after 2006 must have the key programmed using a dealer specific tool. This ALSO prevents someone with a blank copy from programming their "false" key to your car and stealing it.

my wife and I run a small business and we have a small fleet of Toyota and Lexus, all of our cars are either hybrids (camry hybrid, lexus400h, etc or Yaris (5.5L/100))

the Yaris has an incredible amount of interior room, comparable to the Camry...
