Le Mans....Steve McQueen...
after getting HD D-TV this spring and having troubles with the installation.....( my 4x4 wood pole in crete kept warping out of allingment)....I put in a 3 1/2 steel pipe in 720 lbs of crete and now no problems....I watched "Le Mans" tonight in HD...WOWZER!!!!... the best racing movie ever, surpasses Grand Prix just from the tech standpoint....what a great movie!!!...If you have not seen it,do so at a theater or in HD with the sound up LOUD!!!!

Bobby's mention of Steve McQueen was the irresistable draw for me. My first foray into Motors and it's about a damn car. Go figure.

Le Mans is a great watch -- I remember loving it as a racing-addled youngster -- but boy, it has no plot. There are barely any lines. I read that they totally rewrote the script, and worked without a script much of the time. The film, McQueen's vanity project, essentially bankrupted him.
*sigh* yet another reason I should get HD..... |
