I've seen some of this before on the 'net somewhere (in fact I thought you posted it bobby). I would love to know more of this story. There is certainly some fantastic automotive history in that old building.

I recently read an update on this story. One of the original reports was that somebody purchased a property and "surprise!" found all these cars in a barn. Apparently the true story is that the barn belongs to a car dealer/collector. It is a great collection but the dumb-luck purchase part of the story seems to be false.

Gotta love Snopes: http://www.snopes.com/photos/automobiles/barnfind.asp

I have, through the years, found a 1958 Cadillac at a used car dealer in mint condition, brought it by a farmer who traded it with about 15,000 miles on it for a 'newer' car, a Harley Davidson from the 1930's that a bike restorer found in a barn and purchased and recently came across a 1937 Plymouth rotting in a yard. There are collectables stashed in barns and elsewhere and I believe there's a site devoted to just that, but the name of it escapes me at the moment.

Thanks for the carsinbarns link. I remember seeing that a while back but now I saved the link.
I'm taking a couple days off at the end of this week to clean out my garage and I'm hoping to find a real cool car in there someplace. I'll post pics if I find one. Otherwise, at least it'll make room for our cars. |

Yeah, I thought I'd seen this here before.
The captions are annoying. "American Barges," Oh, you mean cars with more than 2 liter engines, I see.
