Video - Porsches on dyno
Anyone here a keen Porsche fan? I found this vid of several powerful Porsches taking dyno runs. Never seen a porsche with nitrous until this! The yellow 964 is by far my favorite car here tho.

Sorry, but I like to brag about this:
After driving around a stock '99 Carrera for the last two years as a company car (worked for my brother) I have to say that its hard to come close to the handling on these cars. We also had two Corvettes ('99 6 speed and '00 auto) and, even though they were faster in the straight, they could not even come close to how tight the Porshe felt. Plus, there is the sound of a Porsche that sends tingles down my spine. Thanks for the video!

only if it was an all wheel drive "AWD" car where the motor powered both front and back wheels. While some Porsches are AWD, I'm pretty sure all the ones in that vid are rwd only. |

The Carrera4 is all wheel drive.
I've got an 02 Boxster S. . . it's about 90hp less than the stock Carrera (02 Boxster S has a 3.2L, 258hp flat six, tops out at about 160mph), but much faster on tight road courses due to superior handling (mid engine vs. rear engine). The thing about Porsche's. . . the ride is not a luxury ride. It's a racing chassis with leather seats and a fancy stereo. The engine is built for high rpms, but with a street-legal rev limiter chip. It's hard for me to imagine driving anything else after driving this car for the last four years. They perform like nothing else I've ever driven. Also, regarding "RWHP", there is a difference between the engine's "HP", and the actual horsepower delivered where the rubber hits the road (obviously, it's usually slightly lower due to inefficiencies in the drive train). Thus, "HP" is a manufacturers' marketing gimmick with no meaning in actual application, while WHP (be it front wheel, rear wheel, or all wheel) reflects the actual, real-world performance of the engine and drive train in combination.
