"Most Beautiful Roadster"

..............over done or real cool????..........:orly: |
Gonna go with real cool.
|
I really like, except for the rims. Some old-school smooth moon wheels with whitewall tires would just look classy on that roadster.
|
A ton of money spent for sure. My vote would go for overdone. IMO a roadster should be simple with clean lines.
However I am old school and a big fan of traditional hot rods. |
An example of the highest craftsmanship ...but way overdone to my taste. I'm much more attracted to cleaner, simpler designs.
|
i'd like to see it off the chrome rack, hood down, trunk down, door closed, on the road as it should be, then maybe it wouldn't seem so over-the-top.
|
I agree with Tech, with the hood down, trunk down, and not so many lights reflecting off of it I don't see how you could get much simpler (maybe a Model A?). The interior seems simple and straight-forward, I don't see any subwoofers poking out from fiber enclosures, or a 42 inch wide screen LCD popping out of the trunk.
The wheels are the only thing that get on my nerves |
I can see your points, but maybe my reservations about it are because of what looks to me like excess chrome. The wheels just don't hit me well at all, then too much chrome underhood, even the hood hinge line looks like it has a chrome bar along it, is that a chrome steering wheel (or just glossy shine from lights?), and even chrome bits between the seats ...and what's with the football shaped cutout on the seats? ...is that functional? or just a miscellaneous design element which isn't even pickup up anywhere else.
But damn, if it was mine I'd cruise down the boulevard with pride and a big smile. |
Another vote against those wheels. They belong on a much plainer hotrod/roadster.
Steering wheel looks golden. The cutouts might be for ventilation? Or maybe the guy making them couldn't get the leather smoothed out in that spot *shrug* Armrest-bleh. All minor points. It's cool:thumbsup: |
I like it, but I don't really like the gold color on it. I'd rather just have it all one color.
|
Put me under overdone. I appreciate the work people have obviously put into it, but there are limits of taste that have been exceeded, in my mind.
If there was a perfect roadster, I would vote for a Shelby Cobra from the 60s. |

I hope I'm not beating a dead horse since I think I mentioned this in another post in this section. I love those old Cobras too, one of my all time favorites, but sadly, or not, a relatively new development has in my mind ecclipsed that old classic, though in my mind this is a case of you can have your cake and eat it too. Thanks to Corky Bell, one of my automotive heros http://www.cb1project.com/ |
I'm also not a fan of the cutouts in the seats. I like that it does not appear to have a phony engine cover hiding the intake manifold and carburetor. It would be nice to see a picture of it out on the road, but that will never happen when someone spends high six figures to low seven figures trying to capture those trophies.
|
I like it a lot. I really don't think its overdone at all compared to some show cars. For one there is no fluorescent paint. The wheels do look like something off of a lowered Tahoe though.
|
If I could get this outfit redone with gold stripes instead of blue and substitute my gold jewelry collection for the silver/platinum, I think I'd fit right into this car ;)
