yea big hp but without an air filter the engine won't last very long and I'll look ugly as hell with that turbo sticking up while driving around.

doesn't matter. Dust is everywhere. Run without a filter, ANYWHERE, and you're risking the health of your motor.

a little dirt is probably one of the last things that a drag car would be worried about.

that motor will probably have to be torn down at the end of the season anyway...

I think that dirt is only an issue for cars that have to run extended oil drain intervals, or that deal with real world environments.

Im not even sure if roadrace cars run filters.
