you must have scrolled too fast...there's this single picture. so a little love...

the rest are all in production so there's plenty of variants... unlike the concept Camaro.

I should find an original 1970 Challenger R/T two-door convertable and buy it, restore it, and enjoy it. I don't get these throwbacks. I just don't get 'em.

The vette and the GT are gorgeous, though.

wait until you hit your late 30s... you'll be more interested in those "touchstones" that bring you back.

Whoever green-lighted the 4-door Charger should be taken out back and shot. That shit just ain't right.

BTW, I am way past my late 30's and I am tired of these retro designs. Some are okay (the Challenger and Camaro are pretty nice), but most look like overweight mockeries of the originals. C'mon Detroit, get some new ideas.

I like a lot of those.

Like willravel, I lament not having bought the 1971 Challenger 440 6 pack with 37,000 original miles in near perfect condition a few years ago at the big Carlisle PA meet, it went for $17,500.

I think that yellow car is a Pontiac Solstice with some body kit mods.

both the yellow car and the Saturn are the new Saturn Sky. a front engine (inline-4) RWD little car. the Sky, the Solstice, and a soon-to-be Vauxhall (not in the US) are pretty much identical cars under their skin, using GMs new Kappa platform

As far as the 4-door Charger goes. I think it was a smart move on Chrysler's part to give it 4-doors. Maybe giving it a different name other than Charger would have been smart, but what other American manufacturer, can you go buy a V-8 powered RWD car with plenty of power AND still be able to use it as your daily driver family hauler? That plus it makes a kick ass looking police cruiser.

If they had gone with a two door version, they would have had to make it cheaper and smaller and modify the platform a good deal. If they hadn't I'd imagine sales of a 2 door Charger would have been comparable to the 2 door GTO. Instead Chrysler had a good platform and quickly turned around its image by being able to pop out 3 new cars (Magnum, 300C and Charger) within a very short time and show that it was committed to making powerful yet practical cars.

Besides, they'll soon have a 2 door Challenger. Which judging from concept pics will be dead sexy. 2008/2009 Should be a good year, with the Camaro finally coming back, the Challenger slated for production sometime around then, and the Mustang getting a face lift and more power around the same time.

Like a wise man once said "God made oil and rubber to burn into smoke and noise"

American Horsepower has returned ! I still believe that the domestic car has work to do on interior design though. It's nice to see the fact that at least externally and motor-wise they've improved by leaps and bounds.
