Ferrari P 4/5 by Pininfarina revealed!

The much-anticipated Ferrari P 4/5 by Pininfarina has finally been unveiled. The car was created for collector James Glickenhaus, and is valued at over $3 million. It was inspired by the P4 racer of the 1960s. Essentially, the P4/5 is a rebodied Ferrari Enzo, with a Pininfarina-designed exterior. More details are expected when the car makes its world debut at the Pebble Beach Concours d’Elegance on August 20th. See the images after the jump…

mmmmmmmm.... I think the rear of this vehicle is the only thing I'm ever going to see of it if ever. Lucky for me it's tagged in NY state I have a good chance of seeing it at some point in time.

The car is very sexy, but that ass is one of the ugliest I've ever seen on a car.

Interesting and I'm glad to see people step up with the money and orders to push the envelope. I think it has nice lines, seems aerodynamically functional but in spite of all that my first impression is not very positive. It strikes me as more of a "design excercise" type vehicle than what I would drive on the street. And when I take a quick look at the wheels, they can almost look like those teddy bear mags, anyway I don't care much for the wheels either. So even if I could afford it, I wouldn't pay 1/3 of what it goes for but would choose something else in that price range, like say a Carerra GT which is one of my favorite cars of all time, or at least lately.

Yes, that looks like a concept car a japanese car company would do..
Not an ugly one, but certainly disappointing coming from the great Pininfarina.
Maybe I'm just nostalgic of the old, classic Ferraris.

Not only am I just nostalgic of the old, classic Ferraris, but I'm probably as old as they are too. So I figure classic + classic ...how could I go wrong?

It looks alright, but also am not real impressed. Aerodynamically... Eh, it probably has some pretty good down force, but as for drag, I'll bet it's not that great. The ass on that car would create some serious drag. (Fluids 1 lesson.... 60-80% of drag comes from the ass end of a moving object)

Honestly, the Enzo is a lot better looking. While I recognize the functionality of it's form, I'd really rather be looking at a Zonda or Speed 12. I'd like to see technical specifications.

#1. These pictures are fake. really good CG imaging though

#2. Fuck the haters, I like it, except for those wheels, but then again wheels are the easiest thing to change on a car

I feel my contrarian side wanting to speak up ...I bet that with that squared off back surface and little rear wing and the rear diffuser and the closed underpanels that VERY little drag is created by the ass end or the entire car.

(I did pretty good in Fluid Mechanics 1, 2, 3, and even 4 and actually enjoyed Aerodynamics.)
