Still need to get some enigne shots but still havn;t got my nwe intake and carb bolted on. I hope tomorrow:p http://home.cogeco.ca/~tylerdonlon/c...ibu_new_01.jpg http://home.cogeco.ca/~tylerdonlon/c...ibu_new_02.jpg http://home.cogeco.ca/~tylerdonlon/c...ibu_new_03.jpg My intake and (800cfm) Carb http://home.cogeco.ca/~tylerdonlon/cars/carb.jpg http://home.cogeco.ca/~tylerdonlon/cars/intake_01.jpg Oh and its a 81' :D |
Im a Ford guy, but theres something about that body style/ size of car I've always liked. In my mind it falls somewhere between a mustang and crownvic in size (there goes the Ford stuff again). Its just big enough to be mean, while not being a land yacht. Nice looking car.

Not being a car guy (as far as i know, inside my engine, there are rabbits running on wheels), but cool looking ride. I was trying to get an idea where you live in Kingston. Nice shot of the Wolfe Islander there.

Nice!! :D
A guy I know took one of those and stuffed a 572 Merlin under the hood. Talk about an insane ride. |
a better post than i thought it would be, i was expecting a NEW malibu (bleh...) :D
|
Oh man! That thing is freaking cherry! What a beautiful car (with the possible exception of the wing that taste forgot).
Nice ride for sure. |

Sweeeet ride. I'm guessing a big block form the cfm's on your carb. What year mailbu?

Its a 81. I hope when i get the body redone and painted to stuff a 502 under the hood  |
Nice...for some reason that made me want to go buy my neighbors El Camino and do things to it.
|
Very nice, Pain Train, congratulations. For me, I think that's probably my favorite Chevelle body style and yours sure looks like a very nice clean example.
Btw, where they called "Chevelle" or "Malibu" in Canada back then? I spent a lot of time in Canada, most Summers with my cousins in the Toronto area, and I remember the strange-to-U.S. names like Acadia, Parisianne (aka Bonneville) etc. |

Ya I know about the wierd name change, some people have called it a Chevelle before and all I say is a well it is a Malibu but the same thing:) |
Nice ride!
I may be wrong but I was always understood they were Chevelle's and the Malibu was a version. I remember my mother bought a brand new 69' and my older brother switched off driving that and his 56 vet. He blew the trany(sp?) in the Malibu and my parents were pissed. I sure wish I would have gotten either one of those. I had a 73 Mustang convertable that was nice with top down but I would rather of had one of the other two. |
Here's a reference to what I thought.
Other new '68 Chevelle features include a Hide-A-Way windshield wiper system (standard with SS 396, Malibu and Concours models), new exhaust emmission control systems, and as you can see, exciting new long hood / short deck style that smacks of a true sports car. There are, of course, many extra-cost options and custom features you can order to virtually customize your kind of car. Some are shown throughout and a complete list is available. Link |
That's the way I remember it ...even in the U.S. the Malibu was a somewhat "upscale" or sporty version of a Chevelle, then up to the "SS" model. I was also questioning the unique Canadian names given to many of the domestic North American made Ford, GM, Chrysler cars back before the '90's.

Damn I want a big block now...:D

I like this one, pricey but proven and a pretty nice package. At $11,495 I hope you are expecting a large tax refund. Let me know when you can give me a ride.
