OCC and WCC stickers and grear
I dont know if it fits here or not but this has been bugging me. I see a bunch of cars with stickers and people wearing shirts and hats from Orange County Chopper and West Coast Chopper. Can someone explain to me why? I just dont understand the whole deal. All they do is make some bikes and have stupid tv shows.

Sorry man, but you could pretty much say that about anything in popular culture: all Korn does is play music, all Bart Simpson does is have a TV show, all Tila Tequila does is look hot and sort of sing. It's all the same. People like what OCC and WCC represent, so they want to associate themselves with it. Don't get me going on the social psych phenomena of people following trends...

Its all a fad....they come and go. If people aren't wearing their pants down to the crack of their asses, they are tatooing foreign languages on themselves, idolizing the new star of the day, worshiping a new tree or buying new fitness equipment that will make them look like the experts on TV. I actually saw a 'No Fear' sticker on a truck today. Seems some last longer than others. Peer pressure can be a good thing or a bad thing.......
Just my opinion though...

You can't seriously tell me you never bought something just becaused you liked it or the image behind it. Name Brand cloths fall under the same category and I will say I feel the same when I see people buying expensive cloths for the name. Guess I'm not seeing the image they see or it could be the fact that I don't care for trendy cloths that cost as much as tommy and all the others do.

first it was choppers... now its poker... tattoos seem to be hot as well, who knows was the discovery channel will make popular in 6 months.
it sucks if you are a core member of the subculture and it explodes around you, but if you liked it before it got popular, you will still like it after it fades away... and they ALL fade away.

I don't really buy that "trends come and go" some interest may wane but it's cyclical. I remember my parents telling me "rock & roll" was just a fad and would pass...so too would my interest in motorcycles as would everyone elses. (see below) Now as for the T-shirts I guess it's everyones right to wear what they choose but ya ever see a Harley rider wearing a Honda T-shirt??? There are some things better left uncopied...
