Verbs
I've found that when writing, verbs can do so much if you just let them. The brilliant thing about the english language is that we have hundreds of words that have the same general meaning, but express such different emotions and traits of the same thing.
In Writer's Craft last year, we were encouraged to keep a verb list so that we could have the best words for our scenarios at all time. I thought it would be interesting if we compiled a TFP Verb List. Here are some of mine: gleam clutch samba bludgeon gush rupture amble lumber saunter snigger seethe divulge sing revel hyperventilate palpitate What do you have? :D |
i normally keep track of adjectives, but heres some that come to mind
emasculate fooding flutter carouse |
I like this idea:
parambulate festoon orchestrate swoop percolate secrete (as in to hide) precipitate tinkle |
I'm an adjective and noun guy but here are some of my favorite verbs:
Devour Infect Inflict Inflect Cast Eclipse and I like parambulate. |
Hmm...
Defenestrate Smite Scorn Solace Cogitate Enervate Exalt Ostracize Eschew I could go all day! |
Now I know where to come when I need a good verb! :D
Thanks for playing along. |
