poem for the girl that broke my heart
Here goes-
How can it be that so many are just waiting to die Pallid hands creeping up the virgin's skirt that awful grin would it be so bad to walk alone? wandering through the ruins of my crumbled home I was never one to be satisfied with letting things fade and I won't let you go/drop your hand/watch you fall far below They won't do it to both of us And now the bombs are falling and my knees are cut but I will last until the end, to get through this we are all waiting for the dawn, child if only I could feel your breath lose this dread begin again undo these nightmares, screaming dreamscapes burning in my memory I plead with G-d to release me and I will wrap you in blankets and wipe you clean and touch the tear from your cheek to my lips it will never leave me Kind of long complicated relationship- she had been preyed on by a sexual predator a year before(over a long period, guy was in position of authority, totally messed with her head, she thought that it had been her doing). She didn't "get" what had happened, I "woke her up" and she was in the process of reclaiming herself. In the process she rejected me, which was very painful. It's kind of abstract, a lot of different feelings went into it. I basically took a lot of pain, staying with her(though I stopped doing sexual things with her) until she was seeing a therapist and I knew she was in a good place. This was absolutely breath taking!
An emotional and deep piece of work. It brought tears of understanding to me. Thank you for sharing.

I like this. Have you thought of putting the description after the poem? Sometimes I like to read poetry to get my own feeling for it. It is very vivid,Thanks

I think that it says allot about your character to want to help her through something like that. I'm sorry she rejected your attempts. Sometimes I think it's hard to move on in her situation and pushing you away might have been the only way she knew how. I think you're an awesome guy for trying to understand. And you write beautiful.

Sometimes in order to truly help others, we have to put ourselves in harms way - your written perspective shows just how much you care for her, and also just how deeply she hurt you. Have strength in knowing she's better thanks in part to you.
