§ The Simple Life
I remember a time when everything was right.
The grass was green and the sky was light. We were the composers of the war. We were the spot light. Can you taste the rain? So oh up high, Like a white night in the sky, Everything was right in the simple life. Now everything slips away. Just a bend in time, Nothings the same, I can’t recognize a single face. So many came and went. This place has changed right into the night. Their meaningless words, The story of my life. As I sit in the corner and wait, Wait for the schism, That will end this sacred bliss. Our phenomenon cried and died. Now were stuck in the past. Just a rag tag of the old cast. That’s all that’s left of the old way. A dried shell from a bullet casing, A silent whisper from a funeral procession. I remember a time, when everything was right. The grass was green and the sky was light. Now can you taste the rain? So oh up high, Like a white night in the sky, Everything was right in the simple life. |
