Through the Eyes of the Bitter. A Seer666 Rant
There are many beautiful things in this world, full of life and vibrant color. And most of them are poisonous. Such is the way of nature. Such is the way of man. We mimic the world around us. It is all we know. There is a world of sunshine and butterflies that the optimists want us to see. What they fail to understand is all that sunshine gives you cancer and the butterflies are just more moths eating away at the fabric of the world. This is the simple truth embraced by the bitter and jaded, the pessimists. Or as we like to call ourselves, the Realists. Take a good look at the world. Floods, food shortages, earth quakes, droughts. And that isn’t even bringing what we do to each other in to the picture. Islamic madmen are blowing up anything that moves in the middle east. All in the name of God. Or at least, that is what they say. And they are doing nothing new there. Look us over here in America. The KKK, a branch of “Christians” who somehow read “Thou Shall Not Kill” and translated it into “Hang The Niggers”. And before them there was Salam. Burn baby burn. And Before the Inquisition, what a show, the Inquisition, here we go! Even something as simple as a message of love and forgiveness gets perverted beyond recognition when left in the hands of man. Course, that is going off the premise that love even exists. I have seen very little proof of that to date. It is much easier, and it seems to me, more accurate to explain most human interaction through instinct. The need to breed and survive, that is what our lives boil down to. Who do we get to fuck next and then what’s for diner? We are herd animals. Safety in numbers. The Big Bad Wolf can’t get all of us at once. So we throw the weak in his way, and while they are get chewed up, the rest of us run and watch from safety, laughing with joy that it isn’t us. Every now and then someone breaks the mold and tries to help, and they may even be able to kill or chase of old BBW, but then comes the next wolf, and then the next, and then the next, and sooner or later Dudley Do Right becomes an after diner snack, removing that suicidal tendency from the gene pool, giving the rest of us another good laugh and keeping the wolfs at bay a touch long because they have more to eat. At least something good comes from it. No, there is not much in the world worth that sort of hopeless, pointless struggle. You can have your sunshine and butterflies. Me, I’ll take sun block and moth balls.

An interesting view of the world. While this view is a bit more bitter and jaded than mine, I agree with the problems that we have, man dealing with man. I would actually agree with the fact that there is not much worth the struggle, but there are a few things that make life worth it, and those are the few things I hang on to. Just my ten yen.

All you really need to do is cause a distraction away from the survival instinct to allow an opportunity for change. Why couldn't we just throw the bad ass wolf some cheese in his way, I am sure he would like that very much... I know I would.
In turn, the "herd" might be able to make it on to their next destination without any need for sacrifice, and realize that all they have to do is look at their situation differently, and change their pattern...the problem is that they havent seen the view on the other side of the door...yet. I will never give up on humanity, but for now we should blame it all on the shortage of milkmaids. *dudley do right has spoken and not yet consumed* Last edited by auntflo5; 08-26-2004 at 09:10 PM.. |
