Darkness
 

The noises of the daylight quietly slip away
Only to be replaced by the sounds of the night
They float gently around me
The darkness is my solace.

The night air flows around me
Darkness creeping close to me
The light shows too much, is impersonal
The darkness is my lover.

I stride out into the darkened streets
And see that there is no one around me
Alone I am master of all that I see
The darkness is my kingdom.

Hmmmm. I like it, but the darkness is cold too. Cold and lonely. There is nothing wrong with darkness but sometimes you need light too. Just don't let the darkness swallow you (or anyone else!) whole.

encompassed in darkness. A safe place at times. a time to find oneself. Nice work.

I pictured a man living in a cave that goes for solitary walks at night. Very nice work...
