Well, haven't shared one of these with anybody in a long time. Hope you all like it.


Windows and Doors

I see you sitting there day after day
Looking out at the world and all it’s shades of gray
The lonely people walking by
Do you wonder what they say

Just a window in a building
Like any other of it’s kind
But to you it’s all you got
It’s your world and piece of mind
But don’t you know that in the world there’s so much more
And I was hoping, really hoping, you’d let me be your door

Life is hard and trying outside your little room
So you stay here dieing and there’s nothing we can do
I stand under your window with my silent plea
I miss you so much
Miss you so much
Let me be your door, you just have to open me

Days turn into months, months to years
And everyday your window holds strong against my tears
Once a year I break down over come by my own pain
As I lay the flowers in an empty window frame

I saw you sitting there day after day

Hehe, 'Oof' is exactly my sentiment. Much better than 'thank you' anyway. I was hooked by the originality of the perspective, and the satisfying rhymes didn't hurt too much either. A job well done.
