A Short (Children's?) Story
 

I don't know where this came from. I sat down to write something that would amuse a young cousin of mine, though I had never written anything for a youthful audience before. I had planned a comic poem or funny thumbnail sketch of something, but instead, this story just poured out, more or less as is. It does not resemble anything I've ever written before, and I am at something of a loss to explain it. But I confess, it does not displease me. Anyhow, this is the first time I have ever shown it to anyone outside the family....

It only runs seven pages, but that seemed long to past into one or more posts, so I am attaching it as a Word doc.

I suppose I am interested in some reactions...if anyone cares for this sort of thing....
