What's 21 years got to do with love...

Love wasn't what I was looking for
When you burst through the door
Of love I wanted no part
I turned it off in my heart

I was content to hide away
To just live lonely day by day
Growing alone and old
That was what I wanted, friends I told

But you kicked me right between the eyes
Screamed in my face, swore never to tell me lies
Ripped out my heart
And gave me yours, so that from you I'd always have a part

So here I am lost in your eyes
Shaking off this cold disguise
Loving you when you tell me
you love me

And when I say to you
All this is something new
I never felt this way before
You came kicking down my door.

A cool breeze blows softly on my neck and through my hair

I close my eyes and dream it is you there

I see kids playing filled with laughter

And I close my eyes, seeing your smile and wishing you were here


A gentle rain falls upon the street

I close my eyes and the drops are your kisses on my cheek

A rainbow forms and it's colors glow

I want to sled ride down it with you holding you tight whispering in your ear something I'm sure you know


My woman, my equal, my love

There is a special place for lovers like us above

For the angels they see something so pure

For together we were meant to be, it is perfectly clear



So I end this drivel, with words alone don't say

At some point into an abyss we stare

A broken heart
Things that drive us a part
All are chances that we take
When we offer ourselves love to make

But happiness can also happen
When we allow our love to be taken
It's a risk we take when we are open
Love is to blossom we are hoping

Indifferent, good or bad
Every emotion experienced, happy, ecstatic, anger and sad
The intensity can be too much to handle
Like the heat from a flame of a candle

Nice and warm when the distance is safe
But get to close and feel the pain as your skin will burn and chafe
Love can be like that, it's true
Doesn't have to, with you

Love can be a warm blanket on a cold night
Nice and comforting snuggled in tight
Love can be all that is beautiful and right
It all depends on you view and sight

There comes that time into the abyss we stare

We look at each other and laugh at something silly that's just been said
So I don't show my fear of these feelings I feel, i turn my head

But you found every key and opened them somehow cause the fear inside me you knew

You looked at me and with open arms asked me to stay

I wanted to run but to you I was drawn and then
And told me you'd wait until I learned to love again
You showed me the way
And told me to listen to what my heart had to say

Feeling the love and wanting to be together forever
I wanted to run, I didn't want to stay
But now baby without your love I can't live another day

She's first class, I fight to just be considered low....
She's beautiful and intelligent, I just try to pass through a day without scaring the villagers...
She's everything any man could ever want, I'm everything that makes women run away..... what the Hell does she see in me. Whatever it is she sees it and that's all that matters.

She drinks fine champagne with the stars
I'm just some guy who keeps friends out of bars
She hops a flight to Europe and stays in castles and is waited on by people like me
I vacation in my home escaping from life's hassles and try not to be seen

When I met her she was looking for a prince
I told her jokes and made her wince
She said she wanted a man to build a kingdom for her
And here I am nothing more than he court jester

But she loves me
Her friends ask what she sees in me
She says that I make her feel complete and her heart sing
I don't know how I got so lucky that she'd take my ring

So here we are the princess and the jester

4 AM and Here I am sitting alone in this coffee shop
I admit it's quite the dive
But I can look out the window and see the world stop
When you walk by and look so alive

In a world that doesn't seem to care
You enter and offer to share
With a laugh and smile in your eye
Your beautiful spirit sharing with I

I love you flows from so easily from my heart

So here we sit in this little coffee shop
Looking at a world that for us did stop
