Short Snippet
I found this little snippet of an unfinished poem while packing to move houses. I felt it captured a part of how women perceive the world. It is very feminine. Not sugary and pink, but sort of relating to the way I think so many girls feel about their hair and clothes, how important they are in our sensory perception of the world, and how aware we are of them and the effects they have on our moods.
Bind my hair with new-cut wheat Braid my long and heavy locks Intricately tie these sheaves And so keep their fragrance sweet Pull tight the deep green velvet dress Let its heavy forest rest Upon the fair land of my skin And let me feel the corset's press. |
