bent and turned out toward
the play
of moonlit surges
swirling and dancing
eddying

Rooted to earth,
windswept arms stretched out
over the slick rock face
witnessing the courtship
surf in rock
rock in surf

Rooted to earth,
on darkmoon nights
dreaming
to dive like the dolphin
join the dance

run with the tide
run
run with it

pretty
intense
inviting
hypnotic
be careful you'll get burned

heating up the glass
glass barrier
transparent
bright and hard
absorbs radiating heat
palm against glass
don't break the pain

Diving Up

Glittering eternal
they pause in their
diamond-strewn flight
Frozen in frozen sky
Heralds to the eye

Surface floats
Venus glory
Sisters elusive seventh
Little Dipper and Orions Belt

A little deeper find
the Bear, The Boar, The Lion
of older tales

Dive up further into the vaulted depths
Where layer upon endless layer shimmer
the white sands
of a winter sky

Astronomers dream
so clear to see
to travel
to dive up all the way
to the Way
