I didn't know where to put this so I put it here.

I need/want to find an electric razor but I don't wanna spend money on one thats gonna suck. I know I need one that has self cleaning, and im leaning towards one of the triple headed ones, anyone have any suggestions? I have a pretty soft beard but I also have sensitive skin, the last electric razor I had, I hated cause it hurt to much.

I also have sensitive skin but I tried an electric razor once and that was the last time I ever picked one up. I found that it pulled at my skin and beard leaving my skin extremely sore and burnt. I have always used a manula razor and as long as it has a fresh blade it gives me a great shave everytime. I also found that there are some great shaving creams that protect your face during shaving and leave it super moisturized.

It works wet or dry, with or without the lotion. It's not asclose as a real razor, but it's the closest I've ever encountered.

I was given a braun 8995 for christmas. I love it to peices, and its actually suprisingly fun to listen to the cleaning cycle, but maybe thats because i don't get out enough

Problems i've had so far are with my skin getting used to the dry shave. The manual says to wait 3 weeks for any irritation to settle down, which it is doing nicely. I won't lie, the first few days were hell, my skin was absolotuly FUBARd even with loads of moisturiser, but that went after less than a week.

After that, i've noticed a couple of problems with picking up odd lose hairs. Once they get past the stubble length, its hard to catch them properly in the foils without a bit of persausion.

Other than that, no other issues, the cleaning function works great, the base may be a little bulky to have lying around on the sink though. Mine lives on the window sill until i have to plug it in to clean.
The cleaning is pretty nifty, just slap it in the dock, push a button and it decides what i wants to do, and gets on with it. Sorted.
It has these little fluid filled plastic containers which you slot in the dock (it springs up and you just slide it in and close the top), cleaning everyday will most likely use through them pretty quickly, but i'd imagine using it every few days will prolong the life.

Theres a trimming function to, if you had side burns or something and wanted to keep them close. Just slide up the front and these little teeth whir into action to cut any long hairs. Havn't tried it because my side burns are still on a coffee break, but it does look interesting.

The amount of time i shave is immense. I've gone from a 5-10 minute wet shave to a 1.09 min shave (damn thing tells you your shave time, thats cool ). Can't cut yourself either, pretty handy.

I'd still defer to a wet shave when i have to go out on the town e.t.c, but for everyday use, it's my pride and joy.

I have tried a couple electric razors but did not like any of them. The package normally says to allow your face at least a week of shaving to get used to it. If you try it once and give up, you may want to keep at it to decide if it is worth the money. Most purchases have a 30 day money back guarantee. I found that it took a LOT longer to shave with an electric razor than a normal one. I actually have a shower radio/mirror that helps save time. You must use a sharp razor if you want to use a normal razor.

I have a Braun like Stevie is talking about, and I agree with him, its a nice razor, I've had mine 3 years now (I think), and has the cleaner. The first time I needed to change the cleaning fluid, Target no longer carried the stuff, and ended up going across town to finally locate some. Since then its easy to find. The cost of the cleaning fluid isn't to bad, but if your on a tight budget, take that into consideration.

I have problems with it leaving the odd hair, and if you decide to not shave over your week-long vacation, you'll find its easier to use the ole shaving cream-and-plastic-razor method. My morning routine is tight, I get up and out the door in 25 minutes, and it definetly saves me time.

just wondering but how come you want a electric razor? I havnt ever found one i have liked and i have tried a few. but my skin isnt sensitive in the least. But im weird i have been using a straight razor for years cant stand safty razors and havnt found a electric that gets a close enough shave.

wow i thought i had sensative skin. i use a norelco action something something its older like 4 years old but still werks good when plugged in adn its faster then a wet shave but not much.. i sitll prefer the wet shave over the electric but i now save my wet shaves for the night on the towns, and for general use i use a electric

In my experience, there is no electric razor that actually does as clean a shave as a blade.

I haven't ever been able to use one because they always pull the hairs, cutting them low, which leads to infected hairs and zits. If someone knows an electric that deals with that effectively, I'd like to try it.

I have a norelco, that I've been using for a long time. I have fairly sensitive skin. I think I've been using electrics for about 12 years or so (in my attempt to save a minute or two each morning!). The one I have works great. While away for a couple of days with my sister-in-law and her husband, I used his electric, it was a braun, not sure what model, and it was an even closer shave. Now no electric is as close as a razor, but no razor is as fast as an electric. I won't switch now.

I've got a philishave triple-headed one that has the handy feature of cleaning by just running hot water over the flip-top heads.

I actually use the electric razor first, and then use foam and a bladed razor.

This has quadrupled the life of each razorblade I use(mach3)

I do my face and head this way, so it gets alot of use.

I went from an electric razor (Braun) to using a real razor a while back because I shave maybe once a week, so the hair gets long enough that it's really tough to get the hairs actually shaved off by the electric razors. If you shave daily then the Braun worked fine for me, though since it's a flat head it's a little hard on those curved parts of your face.

My Norelco triple header is also several years old. If it dies I'll be looking for one just like it. Holds a charge for a couple of weeks of daily shaving. I've read all the problems posted with their razors and still vote for the basic Norelco. Its not self cleaning and gets a cleaning every 3 or 4 months. (even got a fancy little brush for cleaning)
