Caribbean Cruise

I returned home after a cruise for Christmas. My wife's grandfather hosted 15 of us on the MS Veendam of Holland America.

We left from Tampa and toured the West Caribbean, stopping at Costa Maya, Mexico, xxxx de Castille, Guatemala, Belize City, and Key West. All ports were great, excepting that I didn't do much in Guatemala past the dockside market and the cheap Gallo Cerveca.

The onboard experince was exceptional. Cabin steward was great, as was the dining room staff. Food was very good, if a little bland (as per the high percentage of seniors/retirees on board). On board entertainment was pretty close to that over-the-top-cheezy point, but fun nonetheless. Although this was my first cruise, the people I was with ranked Holland America above Carnival and Princess. Biggest detraction was the 'all-inclusive' didn't include drinks, and alcohol was expensive.

All said, it was a great time. I'm happy to awnser any questions.
