pain in the groin area when bending over

It just happened lately. Seems to bother me quite a lot.

When I bend over for stuff on the floor, and bring myself back up again, it will pull in the groin area. It feels not much as a sting, just as a muscle pull.

If I stand too long in shopping malls looking for stuff, walking around, my balls start to ache, as a muscle pull. But when I sit down for 30 minutes or so, I can jump run and do whatever. I'm fine.. but just for a while.

I carried my dog up the other day, immediately after, the sensation came about and it started aching a bit.

So I told this to my dad, cos he's helped me with 1 other groin pain before. He's asking me to massage the duct connecting to my testicles. It used to help, almost miraculously before, but right now its not working. I'm getting worried. Btw, I frequent the gym.

What in the world could be wrong? Thanks

Sound like you should get the the doctor to be checked out for a hernia. Turn your head and cough. good luck

LoL, i thought it was, seriously it falls right into place
when i turn my head and cough, they still bounce, so i guess that's a sign of them being fine.

I'd head to the doc for that one. You may have a hernia or something along those lines. When you're turning your head and coughing The doc's not feeling your balls so much as the spot where the tubes come out of your groin and connect to your testes. There's an opening there and sometimes stuff...pops out, hence the hernia. Coughing compresses your abdomen and would make whatever pop out further, that's what the doc's feeling for.

No matter what, groin pain isn't something I'd be putting off getting checked out. There are necessary uses for that...equipment. ;)

Agree with VitaminH. Might also be as simple as an inguinal strain- a frequent gym injury. But not a good idea to ignore it- it should be treated agressively, as an inguinal strain can take some time to rehab. Try to see your doc- some anti inflammatory meds, stretching, maybe even some phyical therapy- cut out the lifting until you see him.
good luck!

A good friend of mine, used to work at costco and would stand and lift for long periods at a time, he began to feel the same pulling feeling whenever he bent over, or did any one thing for a long period of time. It ended up being a hernia and he had to get surgery for it..make sure you go see your doc!

have you been sick? Like with a cold? I had an annoying pain in my groin area (going away....FINALLY) and when i was at the doc for a physical I mentioned it. She said the cold virus could actually inflame the area down there itself and cause the discomfort.

Just something to think about.

Nothing lost if you have a doc check it out.

itch vaccine 11-25-2005 08:08 AM

went to check it out. he didn't very much touch my balls

but he noted that if it was hernia, your balls would sting with touch. i touch my balls all the time and they dont sting.

so to him, he said, it was a muscle pull.

its just like, when i press my body down to try to push shit out. you know.. like in the toilet.. and you go "mmmmmmmmm~~~~" .... it stings a bit. likewise when i sneeze, i guess it gives the same effect

doc told me not to worry, should i trust him or see someone else?

Get a second opinion, It's such a bother when doctors leave things open ended like that.

i hate wankers like that..i dunno how the US system works, but here in oz, all they want you to do is get out of their office as fast as possible but not after you sign that paper so that the government can pay them.

get another opinion.. does sound like a muscle pull, but hey what do i know..im a builder. i could tell you not to worry about it, but then i'd have to call myself a dr. :D

good luck..let us know what happens

It's almost as if they get paid on volume. Kinda like an assembly line.

I play soccer all the time and am in my early 30's, and I've experienced this type of pain several times. I've been told it's a groin pull, and the only thing to do is lay off it (that's what the doc said). I never do (don't really trust the bloody bastards! lol), and it has taken me anywhere from 3 months to 2 years to completely heal (I don't think I ever give it the full opportunity to heal, as I never quite playing). Several things I have learned that help is heat before playing and ice afterwards. The heat has helped make sure I can run, cut, accelerate, and jump during the game, and then with the ice, I don't ache to high hell quite so much afterwards. The last time I did this was about 2 years ago, and the pain finally went completely away about 6 months ago. This is an irritating injurying, as it takes a long time to heal.
Good luck!
