'Work At Home' data entry/survey/word processing type jobs
I was wandering around portland.tribe.net just now, vainly looking for a job for a college freshman with no skills and ran across those 'work at home, earn tons of money' type jobs. I've seen these types of jobs before, but I've never seen anything critiquing them... So I was just wondering, being the naturally paranoid guy I am and looking at their promises of nearly free money, are any of these actually legit? And if there are ones that are, could you point out where I'd find them?
I especially like how many of them share the cc-us.com thing :P Job #1 Job #2 Job #3 Job #4 Job #5 Thanks -baydJob #6 Last edited by bayd; 09-18-2005 at 10:50 PM.. |

I don't know much about them, but I think it goes down to the old saying that if it sounds too good to be true, it probably is. Work at home, no required skills, do little or no work and make a lot of money? Sounds like a pipe dream to me.
Also, when I tried to look at them further, three of the five links were dead. Go ahead and inquire, but proceed with caution and take everything they tell you with a grain of salt.

Ya, I feel the same way about them you do Martian, I don't have much hope for these types of jobs. Mainly what I was wondering was if anyone had some firsthand knowledge of 'work at home' type entry-lvl jobs that actually were legit and worked out (I'm having a hell of a time finding any job that works around my college scheduale atm).

I know a guy who used to do data entry from his home. I also (almost) had a job doing an on-line newsletter for someone, which would have been from my home.

More than likely, the only way you will find a legitimate job doing this sort of work, is to hit up local, legitimate companies. Someplace that you can actually walk into a lobby and speak to someone.
99.9999% of these sort of offers found online/tv/magazines/flyers on telephone poles etc. are going to be scams. |

Job #6 'looks' the most legit out of that bunch.
Do you have any pharmaceutical or cosmetic companies there? Many times you can earn extra money by testing out product ingredients by use of patch tests or sampling tests. Call one or two, ask if they have a testing lab they use. I did that for years up until I went back to full time work and would do it now, but the local testing lab moved out of state
