Drinking When Upset
My mom is currently crying over a guy because he won't give her the time of day. THAT IS SO NOT WORTH CRYING OVER! I try to tell her this, but she won't listen. Then after having a glass of beer, she has a glass of wine.
HELLOOOOOOOO that's REALLY not a smart move... I tell her that too and she says, "yeah, you're right.." and continues to pour her glass of wine. I can't help her. /vent Thought this was the right place to post, if not, feel free to move. |
Well, I don't know your mother, nor very much on the subject. But if something as minor as that will cause her to drink, then she probably has a problem.
Or it was an isolated incident. |
I know this doesn't give much detail. I don't want to do that anyway, but just venting a little bit while I'm at it.

I didn't think people drank for any other reason.

Wait, isn't alcohol a depressant?
Anyways, venting is always good, hope you feel better. I think it depends on the individual. Some people get worse when drinking while upset, others get happy etc.... As long as she's not hurting herself or others.....maybe have a drink with her? |
Nah, I feel that having a drink with her under those particular circumstances wouldn't be helpful, more like enabling her.

And i'd say that someone not giving another the time of day is not exactly a major form of rejection. |
Has she thought about pursuing someone else? Maybe someone that feels the same way?
I know you just wanted to vent and not get advice, but I couldn't help myself. |
