Weight Gainer + health issues?

Hi guys. My buddies finally had enough of my whining about me wanting to gain wait, so they decided to get me a tub of weight gainer since my birthday is coming up. Anyway, one of my friends mentioned that weight gainer supposedly causes liver and kidney problems. I'm not sure if he meant through long term use or what. Does anyone have any information regarding this?

My next question is regarding the weight gainer itself. I searched around the forum and saw that one of the weight gainers (I think named N-large2 or something) contained 52 grams of protein per serving. Mine only has 10. And it's loaded with sugar. I mean LOADED. It gives about 140 grams of carbs, but 76 of those are sugar. I'm no dietician, but doesn't that mean i'd have to cut out any other sugar i'm eating? Especially if I take 2 servings a day.

My final question is regarding alternatives. On some of the threads that I saw, they mentioned eating a lot. I was thinking that (since I already have it) I would take 1 serving of weight gainer after I work out. And bring extra bread/tuna every day and try to have a tuna sandwich twice a day aside from breakfast/lunch/dinner. Would that help me gain weight/muscle as effectively as taking that weight gainer twice every work out day?

ANY and I mean ANY help (regarding diet, exercise, weight gainer, anything relevant) will be GREATLY appreciated because I know absolutely nothing about this supplement stuff.

Firstly, weight gainer doesn't cause liver or kidney problems.
Secondly, it's designed for the super-skinny people out there who don't put on any type of weight, fat or muscle. If your not one of those people (and you should know who they are) then don't use it, it will just make you fat.

Anyways, onto how weight gainer works. Super-skinny people have really fast metabolisms which burn through food energy in double quick time. The simple carbohydrates and sugars in the weight gainer are designed to provide the body with fuel so that the protein can be safely used to build muscle with the (in theory) excess of carbohydrates your providing your body.

The aim is to consume enough calories so that the body has an excess, and when the body has an excess on what it normally uses, it can start using spare calories to build muscle and lay down fat.

Eat as much (clean foods) as you can, and take weight gainer before/after workouts, and on non-workout days too.

Ok, well, i'm not sure if I should use it now. I'm not super-skinny. But I know for sure that I have a HARD time putting on/losing weight. I've been the same weight for years. I can eat pure garbage or I can go on a hunger strike. Nothing's going to happen. So should I still consider weight gainer? And if I should use it, should I use it on work out days or every day? And how many servings? The instructions say to use either 1 or 2 a day.

I should probably mention that i'm currently 5'7" 130 lbs. I want to get bigger, but not huge since I want to retain my ability to run. Since I don't know how much heavier I want to be, my plan is to use the weight gainer I have (supposedly about a month's worth) and see how much i've gained.

Oh, and is that much sugar normal? 70 something grams per serving seems a lot

IMHO using a weight gainer is pretty bad unless you are doing some serious workouts and need the material.

If you take it without the exercise you will just gain fat. I don't know how old you are but I'll guess young, and trust me fat starts to come very naturally later in life.

I work out 3 days a week. I'm not trying to get fat (of that I can assure you ) but I want to get bigger and then turn it into muscle.
