Paranoid??

This is my first time on a forum. So bare with me if I sound like an idiot.

Ok, I have a problem with people. Though I know in general things aren't as bad around me as they seem. Although, being a pesamist, paranoid, and enjoying marajuana as my recreational vice, doesn't help matters. Seeing that weed causes paranoid hallucinations in some people with problems, such as mine.

Should I take a break from weed and see if I get better or should I just go see a doctor? I am having a really hard time here. I think everyone out to get me, even though I know there not. Its hell at my job. I don't want to worry myself to death. Any advice?

When encountering a mental hurdle such as paranoia and pessimism as you say, using mindstate-altering substances can hardly be helping you clear it up. Can the weed, I say.

Yeah, I agree with Lak... you might want to try giving up the weed at least for a little while, see if it helps. I don't think it could hurt anyway.

If that doesn't seem to help I would probably go see a doctor, if it's affecting your life that much you've got to try and make it better however you can.

Ya, cut down on the weed. The only time I have panic attacks is when I smoke weed. Well, too much weed. If your paranoia persists, go see a doctor. Maybe try other things like exercise or a hobby. Try to get your mind off thinking too much. You even said its not as bad as it seems. Try to do it the natural way. Sometimes medication isn't the best answer. It can change a person into something their not. But in other cases it can be positive. Go see a doctor as a last resort. Maybe try a therapist for now. Good luck man.

Considering that one of the more common side-effects of the use of marijuana (though I never have, but I know some who have) is paranoia... yeah, stop doing it.

You'll need to stop for a month just for it to leave your body as a traceable element, but about another month (depends on the person) for it to really stop affecting you.

So, stop the pot, and keep in mind that you'll need to wait about 2 months before you can start really feeling out your situation. Some people notice immediate results.

If you don't, go see a doctor. The first thing (s)he'll ask is if you use any drugs. Answer honestly, and that you've quit for _____ long. That information will be important to the doctor, and is protected information. If you're not honest, the doctor will not know precisely how to help you, and you could receive assistance that doesn't actually help you.

If you're a chronic user (more than once or twice a day) or feel any withdrawal from discontinuing the use of the marijuana, seek medical help before going cold-turkey.

I will say stop smoking the weed.
I had the same experiences when I experimented in high school. I actually envisioned my obituary and told people that I was going to die. My mom thought it a weird phone call, but took it as a joke. I told her we were playing truth or dare .
One time, I couldn't see anyone's faces and I had to get carried out of the bar screaming. I had many more paranoid experiences before I quit. I have not had one since. Good luck!

Can pot effect the mind even when your not high? It stays with you?

I never new that. I thought it was just tracable for a month or two in your urine. I didn't know it could still effect the mind when your not high.

Certainly. The residual effects of the drug are mostly psychological, because your brain expects to feel a certain way (assuming one smokes enough to be high on a regular basis). There are also slight changes in the chemistry of the mind that you undergo pretty much any time you take a drug (prescription or not) that effects the mind, and those changes can take varying amounts of time to auto-correct (if they correct themselves at all) once the psychotropic substance is no longer present to cause the change to persist.

Good luck to you Mr. Burns I know that pot effects me for as long as 10 days after I've tried it. I hope you are already feeling the benefits of giving it the boot. Once again good luck and welcome to your new non-paranoid life
