Maybe I'm just a big wimp, but the first time through, I just couldn't watch the whole thing. When the blood starts gushing.....*shudders*. I don't even have a problem with people doing this, its thier body, do whatever the hell you want

I was thinking about getting this done for a while but In IReland its a bit risky coz pretty much nobody has experience cutting tongues, I decided on 2 piercings instead. Im not a vampire or a pain freak but dont you think its wierd the way people react to blood? Think about it, ITs inside us all the time, as soon as it breaks the skin people freak out.

I can understand piercings, although there's plenty I wouldn't do, but can somebody explain why this is done? I just don't understand what you get from it? Come to think of it, it makes perfect sense compared to penile mutilation. Damn, I think my age is showing!

its just another form of body modification...

supposedly eventually you can control both ends independently of each other... i think it looks pretty neet... but freaky at the same time...

i think they should be able to do whatever they want with their body....

Why anyone would want to do this is beyond me, but if someone wants to do it it really doesn't matter to me. For things such as this, I've always said I'll defend your right to do it all the way, but I'll tell you you look like an idiot all along that way.

Not my thing (at all), but I agree that people should be able to do it if they want too. That said, it seems to me that people who do this and other extreme body mods are (whether consciously or not) choosing a life of isolation from mainstream society that may seem like a lot better idea at 20 years of age than it will at 40+. But then, who knows -- in 20 years or so a new industry for tongue restoration surgery may spring up.
