Would anyone recommend going to....
....Phuket, Thailand - POST tsumai?
I'm off to Thailand in September. I'm a little unsure whether to go to Phucket or goto to the East coast instead. I basically want to spend a week lazing in paradise. Just wondering, has any TPFer's recently been to Phucket? What was the accomodation like? Cheers |

Never been -- I'd probably check the department of state website for travel advisories for there... but a quick google brought up:

Everything I've read says that Phuket got off very easy compared to other places. Add to this that many there are reliant on tourist money... If you really wanted to lend a hand, one easy way is to spend your tourist $$$ there.
