Malaysia islands
Has anyone been to the malaysian islands?
Like tioman or Perhentian? Wondering if anyone has any suggestions for places to stay, dive sites, etc. Heading there pretty soon. (stupid typhoon knocked out all the resort places in Taiwan..)

Yes I have been and I definitely recomend it, especially the more secluded areas (plenty of them). I went to a small island with a few bungalows on it. I have also been to Tioman, you can find a secluded area easily even though it is a larger island (I stayed at the Cocos resort).

Been to Langkawi Island a few years ago. Quite the place in my opinion. I think it's the second largest rain forest in the world? Lot's of wildlife at the resort we were staying at. Python in the pool one morning. Alway told not to leave the french doors out to the patio open at night. Very interesting place.
Here is where we stayed: The Andaman

Sounds pretty interesting! How much does a ticket cost to fly there from the US? Do people speak english, or also maybe mandarin chinese? What is the exchange for US currency to local currency - and what is the local currency?
Malaysia looks like a nice sort of paradise to visit.. |
