Lost my Wallet

Ya, I lost my wallet the other day. It's been a decade or so since I've done that.

I've:
Canceled my credit cards and requested new ones.

Balanced all of my accounts and verified charges.

Replaced my Driver's License.

Dug out my old insurance cards (which don't really change).

The Costco card and grocery cards can wait until I get there. My work ID and passport were elsewhere. So what am I missing?

ATM card? Security card for work? Any receipts that you would need for whatever reason...

My ATM card is a Debit/Credit/ATM one and has been reported. Haven't seen my Social Security card since the 80's (nor have I seen any reason to get a new one). The receipts and cash are just gone, I think. The only reason I keep receipts is to balance my account after using the debit card. Hadn't thought of business cards, the reason I keep them is because I have the short term memory of a gnat. I'm not sure how to recreate them.

Stan, I found a great previous post on tfp when I was asking a similar question when my mom was mugged. Let me see if I can find it again.

I get a sick, nervous feeling every time I don't know where my wallet is. I start to panic and I become completely irrational. Nothing else in the world makes me react the same way. There's no explaining it. I hate, HATE not knowing where my wallet is. Right now, in case you're wondering, my wallet is on my desk, two feet away from me, with my cell phone and keys.

Just a question: Does anyone photocopy all the cards, documents they have in their wallet? Will having a photocopy of them help in the process of getting them renewed? Or will it not help at all?

Just for the hell of it, the following is a list of things I have in my wallet:

$10.00 (bills, no coin purse)
$0.50 Canadian Tire Money
1 receipt for a golf club purchased at Play It Again Sports
1 buiness card from my Osteopathologist
1 RBC debit card
1 Esso Extra Card
1 Petro Points Card
1 Esso Visa Card
1 M&M Meats Card
1 Health Card
1 Air Miles Card
1 Insurace Company Card
1 Chapters Book Club Card
1 Birth Certificate

I will not include the 50 or so other business cards and other artifacts I have as I feel this post is already losing its audience.

Awesome.

StanT, I've lost my wallet three times now. Luckily, it was once returned before I knew it was gone. It sucks so much to lose it.

Isn't it sort of fucked up that we get so nervous and go into such a panic over a wallet/purse. I have lost my wallet a few times as well and know how much it sucks.

Identity theft is no small matter. I would prefer that someone else isn't spending my dollars, almighty or not.

i don't carry cash... and just a few cards.
