You live where? This is an international board.
Your interests? Relaxing or adventure? Your cost range? Actual month of wedding? That'll affect the results. Give us something to work with...

astronomical can mean different things to different people... you really want to set a budget for your honeymoon so that you don't go crazy...
Do you prefer a tropical atmosphere or cooler. Do you want to be around other people, or just be alone -- or have the option of being alone. While it is a honeymoon, you wil have to get out of bed at some point, do you want to go exploring (ie a place that has touristy things) or just park your butt on a beach and read a book or people watch. A few years back, a good friend of mine got married and had one of those "destination weddings" meaning 15 of his nearest and dearest friends packed up and went to an island for the wedding. He got married in his barefeet on a beach on Petit St Vincent, i the Grenadines... (http://www.psvresort.com/) he and his wife stayed two weeks... most of us stayed a week (we all left two days after the wedding) The cottages were wonderful -- you could put a flag out if you wanted room service or any type of service, ir just be left alone the entire time you were there... I know it wasnt cheap -- but it w as so beautiful and memorable. The Dorado Beach Hilton in Puerto Rico (http://doradobeach.hyatt.com/property/index.jhtml) is also a beautiful resort - most of the rooms open directly out on the beach which was nice - - I personally don't find chain hotels memorable (they all tend to look alike) but this place because of the beach access was wonderful.... If youi are a wine lover - one of the most beautiful places on the planet is in Napa (or even fi you are a romatic type -- http://www.castleintheclouds.com/ Castle in the Clouds is in the heart of Napa - a very quaint bed and breadfast without the cheesiness that 99 percent of all bed and breakfasts tend to be -- near a bunch of wineries that you can tour (Silver Oak is the best wine you will ever have in your life) November might be a little chilly but some fo the rooms did have fireplaces which is nice...

We went to Kauai last year . . . it's very low key, lots of swimming and fantastic places to eat . . . we loved it there.

Paris!
Paris! PARIS! PARIS!!! I spent my honeymoon there, along with a week in Rome (another favourite of mine). To call it romantic, thrilling, enlightening, fulfiling and more would be to undersell it. I loved it, and I'm sure you and your wife would too, but it may be expensive if you have to travel from the US. Mr Mephisto |

Hey, are you a BNL fan?
/sarcasm Yeah, we need some more information. Do you like it warm or cool, and what is your limit on what you want to spend? You can do a honeymoon - or any vacation - for pennies or for thousands. I've been to Hawaii twice and love it, but it ain't necessarily the cheapest place in the world. I've also done the Caribbean, Mexico, Jamaica...all nice, but it depends on what you're looking for.

It's not very traditional, but my husband and I recently honeymooned (can that be a verb) on the Oregon Coast.
I had been to the carribean before, and decided and island vacation was not my idea of fun as I hate the hummidity and am generally the person who gets all of the bug bites. By far the best place we stayed at we the Alpine Chalet in Otter Rock (http://www.oregonalpinechalets.com/two.htm). I cannot tell you how amazing this view was. And we went in the off season, so it was cheap and quite. |

Hate to dis like 90% of the people who go to Hawaii for their honeymoon, but don't go there. It is okay and all, but really it is mostly a tourist trap for Honeymooners.
Chasey and I eloped to Fiji and stayed there for our Honeymoon. We stayed a couple places, but this was one of our favorites. http://www.maloloisland.com/ You can fly to Fiji on AirPacific which is a quality airline that flys out of LA. The prices are actually quite good. The other BIG bonus is the exchange rate. It is not quite what it was when we were there, but it is still awesome. Imagine all the prices being about what you would find here - maybe a little less - but then your money exchanges 2.5 to 1!!!! Woot! I bought a lot of rounds at the bars for the Aussies I met there (Fiji is a prime hangout for Australians). Their exchange rate was crap. As far as the islands are concerned, the most beautiful blue waters, the NICEST people we have ever met (still) and just a very relaxing environment. It is super killer. If you are serious about somewhere like Malolo or Fiji in general, PM me and we can talk and I can tell you all the details / send you some pictures . . . in fact - I think I have some online: The second two were on Malolo itself. The first one is on Vitu Levu at the Fijian resort.

If I was going on a honeymoon my choices would be...
1) Santorini - Island of Fira in Greece. Cobblestone streets at night... hmmmm 2) Buenos Aires Argentina - the Paris of South America. Opposite seasons. Cheap. 3) Paris - romantic, expensive and cliche but soooo nice to walk around. 4) Victoria BC Canada - biased cause it's my hometown but oh so lovely (in summer) 5) San Francisco - fun 6) Playa del Carmen Mexico - sandy beaches and less crowded 7) Florence Italy - wow 8) Aruba - year round good temp 9) Costa Rica - explore wildlife and sandy beaches 10) Fiji - haven't been but keep hearing it's a good spot |
