Best underwear to run in..?

Okay, I have tried boxers, but they buch up as I run. I tried tightie whities, but they are wedgie-prone. I love boxer briefs, problem is, after a few wears they strecth out in the thigh area, and are no longer held tightly around my thigh, and they start to resemble boxers.

Anyone know of a great make of boxer briefs where the thighs have enough lycra/elasticity in them so they wont become permanently loose ?

I have also tried running in the shorts that have a liner so you can go commando...didnt work either...

For everyday I use tighie whities..but I find them irritating when I run.

haha... This thread reminds me of the time I tried to run in silk boxers. I literrally could only run two or three steps before I had a major wedgie. Those things climbed up my ass and legs like nobody's business.

I normally run in cloth boxers nowadays and haven't had any complaints really exept for an occasional bunch up. I too found tightie whities to be irritating and chaffing when I would run in them (and I didn't want to have to buy something extra to run in as I normally wear boxers). Just to potentially help further posts be more constructive than mine, what was wrong with going commando when you ran danny_boy?

I'd agree and go with the commando with something baggy for the pants. That's what I do when I get out.

When I say commando, I mean I wear the short running shorts that come with built in underwear...like a bathing suit. I think they chaffed because the shorts are exceptionally short.

I think I will try to find boxer briefs that have more lycra in the thighs so that they wont over stretch.

I wear the standard FTL's, but not the long leg version. Mine seem to retain their elasticity as long as I would expect, which would be about three months or so. For the cost of underwear, I'll pitch & replace at that point.

I wear Jockey Sport Boxer Briefs. They have a few different ones but the ones I like are pretty short. They don't have the much legging so they don't stretch out like the normal ones do. They go low enough to prevent wedgies/bunching but not so long that they stretch out or tear.

briefs work fine. The problem most people have is that they dont buy them in the proper size; they instead get them smaller. They are not supposed to be THAT tight, but whatever floats your boat.

In my experinece, boxerbriefs chafe like nobody's business.

Champion makes shorts that have the built in underwear and are "dryfit" meaning they dry quickly when you sweat and do not retain sweat. They are rather inexpensive too.

Lycra shorts are good, and go under normal shorts, no wedgies, and they are surprisingly nice to wear also!

tommy hilfiger makes a sweet pair of baoxer briefs, that are tight and stya that way, time and time again....regardless of how many washes. They don't have a button fly....and are pretty thick material...give them a shot...

I usually wear a pair of tri (triathlon) shorts for running. They're similar to bike shorts, but are less rigid as to also allow running. A lot of times I wear athletic shorts over them if I'm feeling modest that day.

titanwear.com is wear I usually get my tri shorts. I recommend the ones with "gripper legs".

I usually go commando when running or doing anything for that matter. It took a little getting used to with the balls flopping around and all that, but your body gets used to it eventually.
