Rental car question: additional drivers
I want to fly into buf/NY and pick up my sister and her kids in Ithaca/NY for a family trip.
Are there any rental car companies that don't require the additional driver to be with you at the time of rental? Can I just give them a faxed copy of their license and credit card? Can I go to a different location, but the same rental car company in Ithica and have them add her on to the account? Which rental car companies have the cheapest rates for additional drivers?

You really just need to call the rental car company itself. Be sure to tell them it's your sister and how old she is. (25 yoa minimum for sure)
BTW, most companies do not consider members of the same family as 'additional drivers'. You would definitely be able to go to a different location of the same company and 'sign her up' if they did require it though. I use the rental car company matrix on Orbitz to compare rates. It is really easy to use and shows all rates for all the companies. Good Luck
